Description

The barn and cottage belonging to the Red Lion, located to the south of the hotel, is a 19th-century stone rubble building that is partly covered in cement render and features a stone roof. The tall structure includes former shippons below the barn and has a loft door on the gable end, along with slate dripstones. Adjoining the barn is a low two-storey cottage, which has a small shop window labeled Bower, Grasmere Crafts. The rear of the cottage has external steps leading up to the loft and features two small paned three-light casement windows.
