Description
Church Stile Cottage, formerly known as Church Cottage, is a small cottage located at the north entrance to the churchyard, next to the lychgate. The building is low and single-storey, featuring a colour-washed and cement-rendered roughcast exterior with a flag roof and a round chimney. It has a boarded door and a small square window with iron casements and leaded panes. At the rear, facing the churchyard, there are two very low storeys with three similar square windows. The cottage was once used as a school. For additional context, refer to the general group description under Grasmere.
