Description
The Red Lion Hotel, specifically the old portion, is a building likely dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed stone rubble and features a slate roof. The structure stands three storeys tall and has a central panelled door with a slate hood above it. On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century sash windows, while the upper floors have three sash windows, all of which have labels above them. The gable over the centre adds to its architectural character. To the left of the main building, there are former stables and a coach-house, which are lower and also whitewashed. This section includes a segmental-headed coach entrance, while the remainder of the stables has been modernized with two doors and four upper windows. The main part of the hotel is from the 19th century and includes recent additions, which are not part of this listing.
