Description

Rosthwaite Bridge is a road bridge built in the early 19th century. It features an inscribed parapet stone that reads, "THIS BRIDGE WAS BUILT FOR AND AT THE SOLE EXPENCE OF THOMAS SIMPSON BY M. KENNEDY MASON." The bridge is constructed from greenslate rubble and has a narrow single-span design with a humped-back profile. It includes slate voussoirs and a solid parapet topped with slate-slab coping.
