Description
This is a barn, probably from the 18th century, located immediately north of Mains Farmhouse. It features stone rubble construction with some ashlar elements and slate roofs. The south elevation includes an elliptical arch leading to a through passage, with ashlar dressings and a small entrance at the western end, along with ventilation slots. The north elevation has a later entrance to the through passage and an outshut under a catslide roof at the western end. At the eastern end, there is a gin gang with a rounded end and a low wall supported by rectangular piers. The roof of the gin gang has a kingpost truss and stop-chamfered members, with an entrance on the west side and another entrance with chamfered reveals to the east of the gin gang.
