Large house; c1658 (date, with initials R.C., on lintel re-used in barn) for Robert and Isabel Copley. Altered/extended c1673 (date over fireplace). Partly demolished with remainder remodelled at later date. Wet-dashed rubble. Graduated slate roofs with stone ridges. Originally U-shaped plan, west wing since demolished. 2 storeys with attic. East elevation is mostly intact: 3 bays with central gabled porch; glazed inner door in chamfered surround. Windows to ground and 1st floors all originally 2- and 3-lights, mullioned and transomed, under hoodmoulds; ground floor left partly blocked, right hand windows now paired sashes. Original small, multi-light attic windows under eaves. Similar original windows, some blocked or replaced by sashes, to rear of main block. Front of main block retains original attic windows, and continuous hoodmoulds to ground and 1st floors, but other doors and windows have been replaced. Moulded copings, and ball finials to roof apex and kneelers; corniced stone mid chimneys. Interior: East wing, ground floor front, retains chamfered fireplace with decorative, dated, plaster overmanetel;large chamfered, segment-headed fireplace in rear room. Wide full-height newel stair in projecting wing at rear. Total of 6 upper-cruck trusses to roof. Single-storey block adjoining rear of east wing not of interest.
