Description
Hutton Sceugh is a farmhouse, now a house, that dates back to 1707, as indicated by the inscription above the entrance. The building features roughcast walls beneath a graduated greenslate roof, with cement rendered chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and has four bays, with a single-bay lean-to extension on the left side. The entrance includes a 20th-century plank door set in an original painted chamfered surround, topped by a Tudor-arched lintel. The windows are 20th-century casements with glazing bars, also in original chamfered surrounds. The lean-to extension has a plank door and a casement window. At the rear, there is an extension under a common roof that includes 20th-century windows flanking a staircase window with a chamfered surround. There is an additional lean-to extension on the right side, which features a plank door.
