Description

The Nook Cottage is a building dated 1661 and 1818, located on Nook Lane in Ambleside. It features lime-washed roughcast over stone rubble and has a flag roof with two chimneys. The cottage is two storeys tall with long low proportions. At the center, there is a wide low porch that has a slate gable, an inner slate bench, and a segmental arched bargeboard. The ground floor has two windows, while the upper floor has five half-dormer windows, all of which are modern casements. The overall layout of the cottage is L-shaped.
