Description
Steps End Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the mid-17th century. It features painted slate rubble walls with a slate string course on projecting plinth stones, topped by a graduated greenslate roof with painted rendered chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays. A 17th-century studded plank door is set within a 17th-century gabled stone porch that includes side seats. The windows are irregular casements with glazing bars in plain reveals. The name was changed back to its original name by the National Trust around 1980. There is a 20th-century extension to the right and a barn to the left, which are not of interest.
