Description

Sun Cottage and Sun Inn Public House is a public house, shop, and house that likely dates from the 18th century, with later alterations. The building is roughcast with a slate roof, and some exposed stone is visible on the first bay. It has three storeys and six bays; the first bay features a two-storey projecting wing, while the sixth bay has a three-storey wing, and there is a lean-to projection on the ground floor between them.

The first bay includes windows with slate-hung lintels and casements, as well as signs of a blocked loading door. The second bay has a canted bay window, and the fourth and fifth bays have small-paned casements. The sixth bay features a 20th-century shop front with plate glass casements above. On the first floor, there are three sashes with vertical glazing bars and horns, along with one casement in the second to fifth bays. The second floor has wooden mullioned windows with configurations of 2:2:3:2 lights.

The entrance has a panelled door with a hipped roof over it, while there is a plain entrance to the first bay. The building has one projecting lateral stack and one lateral stack in the sixth bay. The left return includes a lean-to garage, and the right return has plain casements and a first-floor entrance. The rear of the building is built into the hillside below the church.
