Description
This former farmhouse, now used as a farm storeroom, is located west of Townend and dates back to 1797, as indicated by the inscription over the entrance, which reads "I & (?) B 1797." The building features a reused door surround from 1735. It is constructed from coursed squared mixed metamorphic rubble and limestone, with an eaves cornice and flush quoins. The roof is made of graduated greenslate, hipped to the left, and includes both brick and stone chimney stacks.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has two bays. A gabled porch is present, featuring the reused door surround and a triangular datestone above. The inner door is a plank door set in a painted stone surround. The windows are sash style with glazing bars; the ground floor windows are double sashes, all set within limestone surrounds. There is a projecting byre to the left, but it is not of interest.
