Description
Brigham Forge Cottages is a row of cottages, likely built in the early 19th century, located on Keswick Penrith Road in Brigham. The cottages are roughcast over stone and have two low storeys facing the roadway. On the right side, there are two doors, and an additional door leads to the upper floor via external steps. The windows include sashes, casements, and non-opening 35-paned windows. To the left, there is a two-storey cottage at a slightly higher level, featuring a panelled door, one 12-paned sash window on the lower floor, and two 12-paned sash windows on the upper floor. The larger house at the left end, which is nearest to the bridge, is also two storeys high and square in shape, with a doorway and one 12-paned sash window on the front. The left-hand return side has a blank gable. The rear of the cottages faces the river and is three storeys high, constructed of stone rubble, with irregular small windows.
