Description

The Packhorse Bridge, located at NGR SS 8987 4608, is a late medieval structure. It is built from red sandstone random rubble and features voussoirs, saddleback coping, and a cobbled footway. The bridge has a single span with a pointed segmental arch and splayed abutments. The parapet is swept back at the approaches. This bridge is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No 29).
