Description
The stables and linhay abutting West Lynch Farmhouse, possibly originating from the 17th century, have been altered and restored in the late 20th century. Constructed from red sandstone random rubble with brick dressings, they feature thatched roofs that are hipped at the south-west end, along with triple ridge tiles on the shelter sheds. The building is arranged in an L-plan, with the linhay and stables oriented from south-west to north-east, and the rear wall facing the garden of West Lynch Farmhouse. The linhay was originally likely eight bays, but now only four bays remain open, supported by circular stone piers. The right side is infilled with random rubble and includes three square-headed openings leading to the stable, with a plank door at the end bay. The adjoining shelter sheds are single-storey and consist of five bays, which were likely largely rebuilt in the late 20th century, featuring 20th-century timber doors.
