Description

This is a coach house built around 1832, located approximately 100 metres to the south-south-west of Glenthorne. It is constructed of uncoursed stone rubble and features a gable-ended slate roof, along with lead-covered roofs on its round turrets. The building has a rectangular plan with an entrance at the front gable end, flanked by two large round turrets, each containing a doorway. It is a single-storey structure with a gable front that includes scalloped barge boards and a finial. The carriage entrance is Tudor-arched, made with dressed stone voussoirs, and has a pair of large boarded doors. Above the entrance, there are segmental-headed vents and slits in the gable. Each of the large flanking turrets has a boarded door with a wooden lintel. The coach house is positioned at right angles to the lower stages of the steep drive leading to Glenthorne. The interior has not been inspected.
