Description
Myrtle Cottage is a semi-detached cottage that may date back to the 17th century, though it was extensively altered in the early to mid-19th century. The building is constructed of slobbered rubble and features a triple ridge tile roof with a stepped lateral stack that has a rebuilt circular stone cap. The plan includes a recessed center, likely designed as a three-cell layout with a cross passage.
The cottage is one and a half storeys high and has a facade with a 1:2:1 bay arrangement. The windows are all depressed ogee headed leaded casements, with two-light dormer windows in the outer bays and two 2-light windows located below the eaves in the center. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century two-light casement window on the left, with three and four-light casements flanking the recessed center. A triple ridge tile pentice porch is attached to the lateral stack, featuring a doorway with a Tudor arch head and a stable-type door.
