Description

No. 40 East Street is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It has a solid rendered front and a slated roof, with a red-brick chimney located on the left gable end. The building is three storeys tall and two windows wide. The doorway is positioned towards the right side, replacing one of the ground storey windows. It features a four-panelled door and a fanlight with three octagonal panes. The windows are six-paned sashes set in recessed box-frames. The eaves have a plain boxed cornice with a bed-mould.
