Description

The Goswell Tomb Chest, located immediately south of the Church of St Mary the Virgin, is a tomb chest dedicated to John Goswell, who died in 1782, and his wife Mary, who died in 1771. It is a plain rectangular block made of granite, topped with a large granite lid that features a coved cornice. An inscription tablet made of slate is set into the north side of the tomb chest.
