Description

Ash House is located about 18 metres south-east of Lower Hisley Farmhouse and dates from the 19th century or earlier. It is constructed of granite rubble and features a circular shape topped with a conical roof made of corbelled granite. The doorway has large granite jambs and a lintel made from a single piece of stone. It is fitted with two iron hinges on the right jamb and a wrought-iron door catch on the left jamb. On the opposite side, there is a small rectangular opening with a sill that slopes downwards on the inside, likely serving as a chute for ashes.
