Description
This barn, located about 15 meters north of Old Venn, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and has undergone some alterations. It is constructed of stone and cob, topped with a corrugated iron roof that is gabled at both ends, replacing the original thatch. The barn is rectangular in plan and runs parallel to the rear of Old Venn. It features a large entrance approximately in the center, a smaller doorway to the left with a timber lintel, and one 2-light window and one 3-light window, both with timber lintels. There are also two bee holes to the right. Inside, there is a variety of roof trusses from different periods, with one truss that likely dates to the late 17th century, as it formerly had a mortised collar. The barn has group value with Old Venn.
