Description
The stables located immediately south-south-west of Neadon Farmhouse are likely from the 18th century. They are constructed of plastered cob with a stone rubble back wall and feature a corrugated iron roof with gabled ends. The building has a small rectangular plan, built into a bank, with a ramp and steps leading to a loft doorway at the southeast end and a ground floor entrance at the front.
The stables are two storeys high and have an asymmetrical north front. There is a doorway at the centre with a later plank door, a window to the left, and a small loft window above under the eaves. To the left, also under the eaves, are four pigeon holes, two of which have slate sills. A small window is present on the ground floor of the right-hand gable end. The left end features a ramp with steps leading to the loft doorway.
Inside, both floors are undivided. The first floor is supported by three stop-chamfered cross-beams with run-out stops and unchamfered waney joists. The roof structure is from the 20th century, and there are remains of a cobbled ground floor and a drainage channel.
