Description

This is an early 19th-century house, although it may have earlier origins. It was originally built as a house with a shop. The front of the building is solid render, while the side and rear walls are of stone rubble with red-brick window surrounds. The roof is slate, with a hipped front. A rendered chimney was added to the rear gable in the late 19th century. The house appears to be single-fronted, extending three rooms deep. It has three storeys, with the rearmost section being two storeys high. There is one window on the front facade. The ground floor has a display window with a fixed 16-pane sash window to the left, and a 20th-century glazed door to the right. A canted bay window with glazing-bars and a top cornice is present on the second floor. Two six-pane sash windows are visible in the third storey. There is a raised band above each storey. The front is finished with a parapet.
