Description
Two barns, located immediately north of Green Farm, date from the 18th century and 20th century. The smaller barn is built of brick with a blue lias plinth and has a corrugated asbestos roof that was formerly thatched. The larger barn, which includes stabling, runs away from the farmhouse and is connected to the smaller barn by 20th-century single-storey stables and loose boxes, which are not of special interest. The large barn is single-storey with haylofts at either end and features a pitching window in the south gable end. The facade facing the yard has a central double plank door, a stable door on the left, and a pitching door on the right of the central double doors. There is also a stable door with a segmental head at the lower right and two timber tie plates beyond. Both barns have ventilation slits in their side walls, some of which are blocked. Inside the large barn, there are six bays with an original queen strut roof that includes collars and double purlins. The smaller barn has three bays with collar and tie beams.
