Description

Hill Farm is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with some 19th-century additions. The building features a combination of brick and square-panelled timber-framing with unpainted brick infill, topped with a red tile roof and thatch that has a decorative ridge.

On the left side, there is a late 17th to early 18th-century brick block with an almost square plan. To the right, there is a timber-framed and brick extension that is set back, along with a 19th-century brick extension on the right gable end. The brick block on the left has a gable facing the front and is 2½ storeys high. It has a 20th-century two-light casement window on the ground floor, a three-light window on the first floor with an original soldier-arched head, and a single light 20th-century window to the right. There is also a large two-light 20th-century casement window with glazing bars lighting the garret, and bands between the storeys. A part-glazed door, added in the 20th century, is accessed by steps on the right.

The timber-framed block is 1½ storeys tall and features a single eyebrow dormer on the left with a two-light casement window. The ground floor has single light and two-light casement windows, some with horizontal glazing bars. A brick buttress is located on the right side. There is also a single-storey 19th-century extension that includes a plank door and a casement window. A massive composite stack is situated at the junction of the brick and timber-framed sections. The right-hand end of the timber-framed part is hipped. The interior has not been inspected.
