Description

A farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century with later 19th-century alterations. It is constructed with a blue lias plinth, brick and rendered brick, and has a red tile and slate roof, with brick stacks. The building has an L-shaped layout, with an attached farm building to the rear right that is not of special interest. The original 18th-century cross-gabled wing projects to the left, standing two and a half storeys high. It was originally lit by 2 and 3-light windows with soldier-arched heads, most of which are now blocked, except for those in the right-hand wall. A band runs between the ground and first floors, continuing along the left-hand side of the building. The left-hand wall has 2 and 3-light casements with segmental-headed surrounds, and a plank door set in a deep reveal. The main body of the farmhouse, set back on the right, was refaced in the late 19th century. It is two storeys high with a four-window front, featuring 4-pane sash windows with drooping horns and gauged brick heads. There are marginal lights to the ground floor. A central 19th-century four-panel part-glazed door is located under a lean-to porch. The gables of the cross-gabled wing have brick parapets. The interior has not been inspected.
