Description
Church Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, that was partially rebuilt and extended in the 18th and 19th centuries. The main part of the house is constructed of painted coursed squared and dressed limestone and painted brick, with a concrete tile roof. It has a gable end facing the road, and later extensions at right angles to the west. The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic. The gable end features a 3-light stone mullioned casement window on both the ground and first floors, and a blocked 2-light stone mullioned casement in the attic. There is a possible projecting staircase in the right-hand corner. The right-hand return has 2 single-light windows with flat-chamfered surrounds in the older limestone section, one 3-light metal casement window to the ground floor of the brick section, and a raking 2-light half dormer window to the first floor. A painted limestone extension stands at right angles with a single-light wooden casement window in the gable end. A 19th-century plank door is located within a lean-to porch that adjoins the extension. The interior remains uninspected.
