Description
This dovecote, dating from the 17th century, is located approximately 3 metres north of Bridge House in Badgeworth. It features square-panelled timber framing with rendered infill, although some areas have been replaced with brick infill. The roof is made of stone slate and has a square plan. On the north side, there is a small low plank door made from a single plank. There are single planks below the eaves on the north and south sides that help deflect water away from the timber framing, and brackets for similar planks can be found on the east and west walls. The roof is half-hipped and includes a square slate-hung entrance lantern with a pyramidal roof topped by a stone finial. The interior is not accessible but is said to contain wooden nesting boxes.
