Description
The Annexe is a Grade II listed house with stables or a workshop, dating from the 17th century and extended and modified in the 19th century. It is an L-plan building consisting of two parts: the service wing or stables faces the street, while the main living block is positioned at right angles, forming a courtyard.
The facade facing the street is made of coursed rubble limestone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with two late 20th-century gabled dormers positioned above two fixed 2-light, 6-pane casements that have chamfered surrounds. The ground floor is blank, and on the return gable to the right, there is an external stair leading to a small plank door beneath a wooden lintel at the first floor. This is above a large flat 4-centred arch that has flush voussoirs leading to garage doors.
Beyond the service wing, there is a long section with a limestone ashlar ground floor and ashlared rendering above, topped with a Welsh slate roof and a coped gable on kneelers. This part has two storeys and features three small 19th-century sash windows at the first floor, situated above a 6-light casement with a stone king-mullion. To the left, there is a plank door set in a 4-centre arched opening, similar to the adjacent stable. The interior has not been seen.
