Description
A detached cottage dating from the 17th century. The original timber frame is now pebble-dashed, with weatherboarding visible towards the apex of the left gable end. It has a thatched roof with decorative ridge thatching and a pebble-dashed stack with a brick shaft. A two-storey extension exists at the left gable end, with a red tile roof. The main body of the cottage has a rectangular plan. A flat-roofed extension is present at the left gable end, along with a 20th-century porch with a corrugated asbestos roof, which are not considered to be of special interest.
The cottage is one and a half storeys high, with two two-light casement windows on the ground floor of the garden front, and a three-light eyebrow dormer window above. Access is gained via a 20th-century studded panelled door within a 20th-century porch. A large projecting stack is located at the right gable end, with the shaft set away from the gable end, and another stack rises from the front left-hand corner.
Inside, the cottage features tie beams with deep flat chamfers and an open fireplace with a bressumer.
