Description

A pair of houses dating to the early 19th century, located at the lower end of Vineyard Street. The houses are constructed from squared and coursed limestone, with a stone slate roof extending to a half-hipped outer end. A central brick stack rises from the roof.

The houses are two storeys and an attic, featuring a 1 + 2-window arrangement. Dormer windows are visible in the roof of number 16. Original 19th-century 2-light casement windows with horizontal glazing bars are present at the first floor, each topped with a segmental head and voussoirs. The ground floor of number 14 has a 3-light casement window of a similar design. Number 16 has two late 20th-century oriel windows. Late 20th-century glazed doors are set beneath rustic lattice porches with stone slate roofs, positioned to the left of number 14 and centrally in number 16. A C20 casement window is visible on the return gable wall to the right. The buildings form the end unit in a continuous row of stepped dwellings.
