Description
No. 1 Vineyard Street is a Grade II listed building that dates back to the 18th century. Originally two small houses, it has been converted into one dwelling. The right half features coursed rubble with a stone slate roof and a stone stack on the left. It is one and a half storeys high and includes a 19th-century gabled dormer with a small two-light casement window above another small two-light casement window, both with horizontal bars. Access is via three steps leading to a plank door set in a broad frame, which has a bead moulding and is sheltered by a rustic lattice porch with a stone slate roof.
The left half of the building is constructed from limestone ashlar and also has a stone slate roof, with a gable stack on the left side. This half is similarly one and a half storeys tall and features a gabled dormer with a three-light casement window with horizontal bars above a two-light casement window with glazing bars. The entrance, like that of the right half, is reached by three steps and has a porch positioned towards the right side. This property is part of a continuous stepped row of dwellings.
