Description

The buildings at 3 and 5 Vineyard Street are a pair of houses built during the 18th and 19th centuries. They are constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. The roof has a coped gable with a saddle stone, a right-hand hip, and a left-hand gable. There are two brick stacks located centrally. The houses are two storeys high with a 2+2-window arrangement. They feature 2-light chamfered mullion casements with glazing bars. There is a small square light beside each doorway, and a 20th-century steel casement at ground floor level. The door to number 3 is located on the right and is a 20th-century planked door set within a flush-chamfered stone surround. Number 5 has a 20th-century door in a chamfered stone surround, leading up three steps to a rustic latticed porch with a stone slate roof. The buildings form part of a continuous, stepped row of dwellings.
