Road bridge over stream. 1891. J. Drayton Wyatt, architect, and John Oakey, mason. Ashlar or rock-faced limestone. Single segmental span c 6.5 m with voussoirs and dropped central keystone, carrying deep parapet with wave-mould weathered top and edge mouldings, arch framed by piers carried down, and crowned by pyramid cappings, a central pier with raised pyramidal panel mould, and plain piers to extended walls beyond centre section. On the east side the parapet wall, in rock faced store and with plain weathered capping, extends to small iron gate adjacent to No 14, Vineyard Street ( q.v.). Total run of walls c 25 m, road width between parapets c 6.5 m. The main arch construction is in brick. The last building at Winchcombe by Wyatt, who died in 1891, and a good example of the work of John Oakey, mason, working for Emma Dent at Sudeley Castle. This bridge gives access from the main thoroughfare of Winchcombe, via Vineyard Street, to one of the principal gatehouse entrances to Sudeley Castle (in the adjoining parish).
