Description
The John Rayer monument, located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary, is a chest tomb dedicated to John Rayer, who died in 1805, along with other members of the Rayer family. It is made of sandstone and features a moulded plinth with inscription panels on both sides and at either end, although there is no inscription on the west end. The inscriptions on the sides are decorated with bellflower motifs and a ribbon tie at the top. Surrounding the tomb is a simple cast iron railing set in stone.
