Description

The well head located outside Nos 14-17 Church Row in Forthampton was built for Joseph Yorke by William Burges around 1865. It features heavy timber-framing with curving braces that support a canopy topped with a fishscale tile roof. Inside, the hauling gear is also supported by curving braces. The structure has a hipped gablet roof, which includes fishscale tiling at intervals along the ridge. This well head is part of the Forthampton Estate.
