Description
This is a pair of headstones located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary, approximately 3 metres northeast of the chancel. The left-hand headstone commemorates Hanna Blann, who died in 1649, while the right-hand headstone is for Thomas Hartalbery, who died in 1651. Both headstones are made of limestone. The headstone for Hanna Blann features a curved face with the upper corners cut away, making it unusual in form. The headstone for Thomas Hartalbery is 12 centimeters thick and has slight 'S' curves at the top, with a fine inscription in capital letters. These headstones are notable as the earliest legible ones in the churchyard.
