Description
The Hermitage is a house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from squared limestone rubble and features a dressed string course at the first floor, a coved cornice above a plat-band, v-joint alternating quoins, and a plinth. The roof is made of stone slate and is half-hipped at the outer end. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a two-windowed façade that includes two-light gabled dormers above sash windows without bars, all set within plat-band surrounds. On the ground floor, there is a smaller sash window between two doors; the door on the extreme left is a six-panel door leading to a throughway, while the centrally located door is also a six-panel design. On the return gable facing Mill Lane, there are two narrow sash windows without bars, also in plat-band surrounds.
