Description

A pair of semi-detached cottages dating from the late 17th to early 18th century, located in Wormington village. The cottages are timber-framed with rendered and painted brick infill between the timbers, set on a plinth of coursed squared and dressed limestone. They have a red tile roof and brick stacks. The rectangular plan includes a later extension projecting at a right angle to the rear right. The cottages have one and a half storeys and a five-windowed front facing the road. The ground floor has four 20th-century two-light casement windows; five 20th-century two-light dormers light the upper floor. All casements have horizontal glazing bars. The front door to No. 1 is a 20th-century plank door with a single octagonal pane, while the door to No. 2 is a 20th-century plank door with fillets and four glazed panes. An axial stack and a gable-end stack are present. The interior has not been inspected.
