Description
The Grasing monument is a short chest tomb located in the churchyard about 14 meters north of the east bay of the north aisle of the Church of St. Peter. It commemorates Mary Grasing, who died in 1769. The lid of the tomb is slightly weathered and features a moulded edge with corners that are slightly indented along the long sides. The north side has a raised square with scalloped corners, while the south side displays a raised circle, both adorned with corner paterae. The ends of the tomb are pilasters with alternating fluting and paterae at the capitals. The east end has a raised panel, and the west end features a winged cherub's head. The tomb sits on a moulded plinth and also commemorates Joseph Grasing, both children of W. and E. Grasing. The inscription includes some italic script with a long 'S'.
