Description
No. 34 Barton Street is a house in a row, dating from the late 18th century with mid-19th century windows. It features Flemish bond brickwork, a tile roof, and a brick stack. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a two-windowed facade. Above the first floor, there are two narrow flat-roofed single-light dormers with 4-pane sash windows, which are adorned with splayed brick voussoirs, fluted keystones, a cornice, and stone cills. The ground floor includes a 3-light former shop front with top lights, accompanied by a plank door beneath a deep fascia board. To the left, there is a wide pair of plank doors under a flat segmental brick arch with a keystone, leading to a former carriageway; the jambs rest on stone plinth blocks. At the rear of the block, there is a corresponding wide opening, which also features a projecting central wing. A brick stack is located on the right gable. The interior has not been inspected.
