Description
The Margaret Randle monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of the Holy Trinity, approximately 5 metres north of the north aisle. It commemorates Margaret Randle, who died in 1643, and William Randle, senior, who died in 1675. The tomb is made of limestone and features a rectangular inscription panel with a moulded margin and an inscription dedicated to Margaret Randle on the north side. Above this, there is a cherub's head with a segmental moulding, and the marginal panels are adorned with skulls and laurel wreaths, along with hanging drapery above. The sides of the lyre-shaped ends are decorated with foliate designs. The south side has a matching inscription panel for William Randle. The monument is noted for its very rich modelling.
