Description
Lea Court Farm is a former small farmhouse, likely dating from the late 16th century and originally featuring an open hall. It was enlarged in the 17th century and altered during the 18th century. The building probably has a timber-framed core, which is only partially visible on the interior, and is faced in brick with some rendering. It has a tile roof with a central brick ridge stack on the front range. The structure is T-shaped, with a rear wing that was likely added in the 17th century. It has two storeys and an attic, and the front range features a former lobby entry. Most of the windows are from the 20th century, with large casements flanking a former blocked doorway on the front range and a very small square light above, probably for a stair. Inside, the main rooms have chamfered and stopped beams, a renewed timber bressumer above the ground floor fireplace, and an altered newel stair to the left.
