Former Harbourmasters' House, detached. Early C19, possibly designed by Robert Mylne, first principal engineer to the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal Company. Rendered, bitumenised hipped slate roof, 2 rebuilt brick stacks at rear. Square 2-storey range, with single storey C20 addition to left not of special interest. 3 windows, 16/12/16-pane sashes in plain reveals. Two 16-pane sashes on ground floor with central projecting portico with 2 square corner piers, 2 fluted Doric columns widely spaced, and shallow pediment with simple moulded edge. Doorcase behind has moulded frame and flush panel door (original panelled door may be beneath). This house, on the westernmost end of the Old Dock (probably designed by Thomas Telford), forms part of a series of buildings on the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal designed with the classical Doric portico motif.
