Description

Woodbank is an 18th and 19th century detached house situated in Painswick, near Sheepscombe, and Jack’s Green. The house is constructed from coursed and squared large limestone blocks with a stone slate roof. It comprises a small cottage with a one-bay extension to the right, presenting a two-story façade with three windows plus one additional window. The windows are recessed chamfer stone mullioned casements; one light is positioned above the porch, while the remaining windows are two-light designs. The lower-floor window on the right has a stopped hood. The extension incorporates a single two-light 19th-century casement window similar in style. A central gabled porch, likely of 19th or 20th-century origin, provides access via a plank door. A plain gabled return is visible on the left, and brick stacks are present. The house has undergone modest alterations and remains largely unchanged externally.
