Description
The Coach House is a former coach house and outbuildings associated with Sheepscombe House, now converted into a house. It dates from the 18th and 19th centuries, with modifications made in the 20th century. The structure is built from coursed or coursed and squared limestone rubble, topped with a stone slate roof. It is a long building arranged in three parts, stepping down the slope of the ground. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring two plus two plus one windows, with various casements, mostly of 20th-century steel. There are two plus two hipped dormers and a glazed door in the central unit. The end unit has a flush gabled dormer. The rear of the building previously had an open store next to the main house and a unit with elliptical arched openings, but these have now been blocked and replaced with various casements and glazed assemblies. A panel commemorating the 1977 Jubilee is also incorporated into the design. The Coach House is included mainly for its group value with the main house.
