Description
The Assembly Room, located to the south of the Crown and Anchor, is a building from the late 18th century with an enlargement from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and red brick, featuring a brick chimney and an asbestos slate roof. The building is two stories high, with the main room situated on the upper floor.
The front of the building has a low-pitched parapet gable and a central Venetian window with glazing bars on the upper floor, which is framed by a stone arch and lintels. Below this, there is a doorway with a timber lintel and a plank door. On the south side, the structure displays rubble with brick patching surrounding three upper floor segmental arched 4-pane 19th-century sash windows. There is also a brick extension at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. This building is connected to the Crown and Anchor Hotel, which is not considered of special interest.
