Description
No 80 High Street is a former house, now a shop, dating from around 1840. It is built of red brick in Flemish bond, with brick chimneys and an asbestos slate roof. The building is two stories tall, featuring a shop on the ground floor and a flat above. The front has a three-window arrangement with 16-pane sash windows on the upper floor, all topped with gauged brick arches. There is a central round-arched doorway flanked by 20th-century shop windows. The plain parapet has stone coping that extends to the south end, connecting with No 78. The north side has an eaves-mounted chimney and 20th-century iron stairs leading to a projecting upper floor lobby. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
