Description

Two attached houses, dating to the mid-17th century with a later addition from the late 18th or early 19th century. They are built of random rubble limestone, with some areas of coursed stone. The front roof slope is covered in Welsh slate, while the rear has asbestos slate. The houses are two storeys with an attic.

No. 10 has two parapet gables with cross-roll saddles. It has a single window above each gable, and three-light casement windows on both the ground and upper floors. The gables contain two-light casement windows with chamfered mullions and hoodmoulds. The central doorway has a six-panel door and decorative glazing bars in a rectangular overlight; a two-light casement is above the doorway. A single-window segmental arched casement window is visible on the right side of No. 12. A 20th-century door is located to the left of the ground floor casement, set beneath a timber lintel. The south end features off-centre two-light casement windows, all with hoodmoulds. The rear of the houses has scattered single and two-light mullioned casement windows with hoodmoulds, alongside some later casements. The north end displays a varied pattern of casement windows with timber lintels.

Inside No. 10, the attic contains large, heavy tie-beams along the lines of each gable, and timber-framed partitions. The main rooms feature tie-beams with pointed stepped stops.
