Description
Franklin and Suffield Cottage is a pair of houses built in the early 18th century, with a later 18th-century addition. They are constructed of random rubble limestone, with ashlar and brick chimneys that have been rebuilt, and feature an asbestos slate roof. Franklin is a three-storey house with an attic, while Suffield Cottage is two-storeys with an attic.
On the west side, Franklin has a range of three-light chamfered mullioned casements, and Suffield Cottage has two two-light casements on the upper floor, with the ground floor obscured by a 20th-century flat-roofed addition that is not of special interest. There are two chimneys mounted on the ridge. The south end has a doorway in a flat-topped square projection, featuring a 20th-century door, with a single-window above, three-light windows on the upper floors, and a single attic light. The east side has a two-window arrangement, all with three-light windows. The interior has not been inspected.
