Description
Chipping House is a large semi-detached house, originally built as a detached house, dating from the mid to late 18th century. The exterior is rendered and features a moulded stone cornice and blocking course, with a hipped slate roof and brick end stacks. The building has a square shape and stands three storeys tall. It has three windows on the upper floors, which are 16/12/16-pane sashes set in plain stone surrounds. On the ground floor, there are two 16-pane sashes and a central doorcase that includes fluted pilasters, a shallow open pediment, and a decorative radial fanlight above a door with four fielded panels and two flush panels. There is a plat band above the ground floor, and internal shutters are still present on the ground and first floors.
